Rules & Prizes

This is a team contest, not an individual costume contest. If your team chooses to participate, the entire team must participate.

Teams should coordinate around a common theme. Coaches are encouraged to join in and dress up with their team.

On Saturday, each participating team must take a clear team photo in the designated staging area. The photo must then be posted as a comment on Bayou Soccer Club’s official Facebook contest post.

Winners will be determined by community engagement. The team photo with the highest number of Facebook reactions (likes, loves, etc.) will win.

Teams may wear their costumes, or parts of their costumes, during games, but this is NOT required. If costumes are worn during play, players must still match as a team and wear all required soccer equipment, including socks, cleats, and shin guards. Players in age groups using referees must also have clearly visible uniform numbers.

Safety comes first. If teams choose to play in costumes or portions of their costumes, use common sense when selecting materials, accessories, face/body paint, etc. For example, avoid paint that may run into a player’s eyes when sweating. Consider the weather and temperature, and do not wear anything that could create a safety issue for the player or others.

Team photos may be taken at any time on Saturday before 5:00 PM.

Voting will remain open through Monday at 5:00 PM. Final reaction totals will be counted at that time, and winners will be announced Tuesday.
