Daniel Whelan

Daniel Whelan begins his 10th season at the helm of the University of Mobile Men's Soccer program in the Fall of 2023 after taking his team to their fourth-straight NAIA National Championship Tournament appearance during the 2022 season. The Rams have finished as the runner-up in two-straight NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship match appearances, falling to Keiser University in 2021 and Bethel University (Ind.) in 2022.


Before taking over as head coach at Mobile, he previously spent five seasons at as assistant coach for the Rams, with prior stops at Spring Hill and Embry-Riddle.


Head Coach at Mobile (2014-Present):


130-41-12 overall record as Head Coach at Mobile.

Five-Time Regular Season SSAC Champions.

Three-Time SSAC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year (2014, 2019, 2021).

Five NAIA National Championship Appearances: Quarterfinals (2014 & 2019), Opening Round (2020), and National Championship Finals (2021 & 2022).

Coached 23 NAIA All-Americans, one NAIA Player of the Year, 29 First-Team All-SSAC selections, two SSAC Offensive Player of the Year winners, two SSAC Golden Boot winners, five SSAC Defensive Player of the Year winners, two SSAC Golden Gloves winner, One SSAC Newcomer of the Year winner, and 25 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
