Carly Gettler

Randolph-Macon Director of Athletics Jeff Burns has announced that former Yellow Jacket assistant coach Carly Gettler will return to campus as head women's soccer coach.

"I am thrilled for this new opportunity and to return to Randolph-Macon," Gettler said. "It feels like a homecoming for my family and me to a place that I already know is very special. I'd like to thank Jeff Burns and the other members of the R-MC community for placing their trust in me to lead this program forward. I instantly connected with the team members that I met on my visit and felt their passion and excitement, and I cannot wait to get to campus and start working with the team."

Gettler was an assistant coach at RMC from 2015-17. Over the past five seasons, she has been the head coach at the University of New England. The Nor'easters went 54-35-10 overall and 24-14-5 in Commonwealth Coast Conference contests. UNE made the CCC championship field each season. The Nor'easters were CCC champions in 2018 and 2019 and made NCAA Tournament appearances in both seasons.

During her time in Ashland, Gettler also handled administrative and coaching duties with the Richmond Strikers organization in the Women's Premier League.

"Carly is a perfect fit for Randolph-Macon College," Burns said. "She is a former assistant with the program, has had success as a collegiate head coach, and understands and values our commitment to the student-athlete experience and the development of our players' mind and character."

Gettler was head coach at Husson from 2012-14. She led the team to an 18-8-1 record in North Athletic Conference matches and to 26 overall victories. Gettler handled duties as sports information director and was the advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

To begin her coaching career, Gettler spent two years as an assistant at Mount Holyoke College. She earned a master's degree in Exercise and Sport Studies from Smith College during that time.

Gettler played three seasons of soccer at the University of Richmond. The Spiders won the Atlantic 10 championship and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Championship in 2002. She received a bachelor's degree in Leadership Studies and Studio Art.

Marisa Lamb

Randolph-Macon women's soccer has announced the hiring of Marisa Lamb as an assistant coach in March 2024.

Lamb spent the past two seasons at Juniata College as an assistant coach where she specialized in recruiting and managing team affairs with travel and player fitness. Lamb began her collegiate coaching career with a season at her alma mater, Chowan University, as the graduate assistant for the women's soccer team during the spring 2022 season.

She began her collegiate soccer playing career at Monroe College, a junior college in New Rochelle, New York. Her time at Monroe College was lucrative as Lamb was a part of the 2018 NJCAA Division I National Championship team and 2019 National Runner-Up squad. Lamb finished her playing career at Division-II Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.

"We are all very excited to have Marisa join our program," said head coach Carly Gettler "She emerged from a competitive pool of candidates as a coach who will bring a holistic, player-first philosophy to our program and as someone who is ready to get right to work to keep moving our program forward. Marisa's success as a player, experience as a coach, and commitment to caring for her athletes and pushing them to realize their full potential make her a natural fit for Randolph-Macon women's soccer."

Lamb earned both her Master's degree in organizational leadership and Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Chowan University. At Monroe, she completed an Associate's degree in Sports Management.
